Today I’m thankful for good people in the world

Today I’m thankful for good people in the world! My baby sister was out riding with her kiddos playing with the dog under a tree. Her horse flipped over with her and by the grace of God some super amazing men were working on the power line across the pasture from her house. They heard her yell as she couldn’t move and called 911. They ran over to her and grabbed my sweet niece and nephew and calmed them down. They stayed with them while the ambulance and fire truck arrived until my mom and I got there. They then took care of the horse and put him away making sure he had water. I’m thankful to report after a few days of rest she will be all good. Praise you Lord for sending watchful eyes…His eye is on the sparrow, I know he watches me…

In this season of convalescence and recovery

In this season of convalescence and recovery, I have been lavished by the love of friends. An outpouring of cards, fresh flowers, balloons, fruit, cookies, chocolate covered berries, nuts and cheese, books, even jewelry … not to mention meals!
Honestly, I am overwhelmed. I have been totally blown away by thoughtfulness and kindness pouring in from all over the country!
Humbled, grateful, and receiving the prophetic messages through each delivery. What a bountiful harvest of kindness I am reaping right now.
Thank you seems too small to express the gratitude and joy I feel. I am totally undone! #grateful #loved #blessed

I am incredibly grateful, to have been able to spend my entire birthday weekend, on a fully paid for retreat, by my incredible company, that I am so lucky to be a part of. I spent countless hours with top income earners, top leaders, and most of all the best cream of the crop individuals who LOVE what they do, Love to help others, give endlessly of themselves, and then teach others to do the same thing!! While making an amazing income! We were all gifted Tiffany & Co. Along with jewelry, accessories, and business tools. I feel priveledged to be a part of this company. Even more…. lucky and thankful to have so many incredible souls I call friends/family!!!

Extending from yesterday

Extending from yesterday, “being interesting” is really just about exposing yourself to ideas and thoughts and experiences that would be considered atypical by most people.
My ways of making that happen:
1. Expose and read ideas and essays and thoughts you would normally never find. http://thefeature.net/ is great, as are magazines. I’m a huge fan of New Philosopher magazine.
2. Take classes in random things. I’ve taken classes in latin dance, pottery, wood working, wood carving, extreme wilderness survival, improv, glass-blowing, and so many more. Some I was a miserable failure at. Some meh. But it taught me new things I would have never been exposed to. My next one is metallurgy/jewelry making with my woman.
Hell, a simple one to get started is taking a cooking class.
3. Give yourself downtime. And I don’t mean meditation – I mean a time to just relax, ponder, and enjoy the sensations around you. Akin to what David Cain wrote: http://www.raptitude.com/…/alternative-to-thinking-all-the…/
Since being interesting is mostly relative to other people… it ain’t too hard to be honest.

I think one of the best things that Congress can do for this country

I think one of the best things that Congress can do for this country, and if the Democrats can just get away from being government control freaks, is to lift the ridiculous IRS restrictions on Direct Primary care that classify it as an insurance plan because IT’S NOT.
I am convinced that more doctors are wanting to go Direct Primary Care. This would be a great cost reducer. It would also be great if Medicaid provided payment for such an arrangement because I am convinced it would be a lot less costly. and probably be instrumental in keeping poorer people from over-utilizing emergency rooms.

July 3

July 3 – Here is a Timothy O’Sullivan photograph taken of John L. Burns after he had joined the Union troops to fight at Gettysburg, in and around the town of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. He was indeed the “Old Hero of Gettysburg”. Today July 3rd in 1863 was the third and final day of the battle between Union and Confederate forces. To commemorate the 154th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg I am posting a scan of one side of an unmounted stereo print from Anthony’s Civil War series.
John L. Burns, the “Old Hero of Gettysburg” was a seventy-two year old cobbler who took up his gun to join the battle of Gettysburg. He was wounded on the third day of the battle.

No better way to start the day and week for that matter

No better way to start the day and week for that matter! Sneak peek of Shift Shop with my mini me on this cool July morning.
My workouts are never easy, no matter how Fit I am because I am continually pushing and challenging myself.
This workout humbled me. But I didn’t quit because I wanted her to see that even when you struggle you can accomplish hard things.
Let me tell you something, today was hard. But you will never know what you are capable of unless you try and give it your all. Don’t let fear stand in your way.
Thank you Chris Downing for pushing me and encouraging me, “let’s get better”.
