A little Midrashic wisdom of the sages:
“the Midrash describes an ignoramus who entered the synagogue, seeing people studying Torah, he wondered aloud and asked: How can I learn all of this? Those who heard his remark responded, begin with the Aleph-Beis proceed to scripture, then go on to Mishnah and Gemara, upon hearing this he thought to himself, ‘how can I learn so much?’ and left. The midrash offers a parable of a jewel suspended far above the ground. a fool despaired of geting to it, but a clever person brought a ladder , climded up rung by rung, and finally reached the jewel, likewise a fool wonders how can he ever learn the Torah? but what does a clever person do? he takes one step at a time, learning one chapter every day until he masters all of the Torah.” (Devarim Rabbah 30:11). This is a lesson we should learn in learning the Torah. it takes time, and taking it step at a time. chapter after chapter. Just something to consider over the Shabbat my friends, I know it is early or late, but it is one of those sleepless nights, sleep well friends have a peaceful sleep.and have a pleasant preparation day.
